Final call

The airport is quiet. Only two international flights remain for today, and only one from this particular part of the terminal. Most of the shops are closed, only one coffee shop serves its customers.

Helsinki Int'l Airport

It’s like a quiet morning at the house, when everybody else is still sleeping. Everybody’s minding his own business, careful not to disturb the others.

People are talking on the phone, reading books and magazines, and playing around with their laptops.

Waiting.

This reminds me of an old little thought I had. With all the people leaving and coming home at the airports, which do we find there most: happy or sad people?

I wonder if there are more people anxious to get away, or anxious to arrive, at the airport, right now.

With our flight delayed, my guess is we’re all anxious to just get going.
