Opportunity knocks

I think I need an intern. It’s not an easy job, but it may be a fun job. My previous assistant moved on in 2000 to pursue other challenges in the US collegiate world, and I have been looking for a replacement ever since. (He only lasted a week).

Act now.

Are you fun? Are you good at taking orders – any kind but mostly food?

Would you like to work in a youthful and international environment?

The average age of my entire team is 20.5, and we speak Finnish, Swedish, English, and some Spanish every day at the office. Our range of operation covers the Nordic countries on a regular basis, most of Europe, so some travel may be required — mostly within Stockholm, though. We love fast-paced action at work, and I think I should mention that sometimes some team members just run around naked.

Your task would be to support me in my pursuit to write something. Anything. That means laughing at my jokes, transcribing my rambling interviews, and maybe spotting me at the gym.

You won’t have to read my stuff, for that, I already have somebody I love.

You won’t have to…

  • make coffee, I’ll do that myself. In fact, you’re not allowed to make coffee.
  • take my clothes to the dry cleaners. I wear a T-shirt most days.
  • suck up to the boss, but you do have to suck up to my team members and praise them.

There is no money in this. There hasn’t been a lot of money in it for me, yet, so there’s even less for you, but believe me when I say that I will teach you everything I know about this business I am in — and I will begin by telling you what business we’re in on your first day at work.

This is a three-month internship, starting on March 1, 2009. The deadline for applications is February 28, 2009. Leave yours in the comments.

  1. I’ve had that job, but I can’t remmber doing anything else than playing basketball at work. Great job! And it payed well too!

Too bad I had to go to college.

  2. I accept the position on one condition. I get to cover only Finnish goalies; that being Ramo (finally, a win), Helenius (beat Martin Gerber this week) and Rinne, (a shutout and a shootout win).

Let's talk! Write a comment below.
