There’s something about Skype that makes phone calls longer than necessary. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s free. This is how it goes.

RISTO

CALLER
Hey, it’s me! What’s up? Long time no hear, ha ha, I just found you on Skype. This is amazing, free calls, eh? How are things??

RISTO
Good, good. And you?

CALLER
Goo… hold on, I need to go do something.

Risto switches back to Scrivener. Five minutes later:

CALLER
Sorry about that. Yeah, things are good, been really busy, lots of new things at work. Which reminds me. Have you seen that crazy Bednar goal? Let me … lemme … find you the link… Here it is. I’ll just paste it in the chat.

A chat window pops up on the screen.

CALLER
Have you watched it?

RISTO
No, no, it’s loading now.

CALLER
It’s awesome. I like how in the end.. no, I’m not gonna spoil it for you. Listen, while you’re watching that, I’ll just send my kids to school, OK? Don’t go anywhere, ha ha ha!

Risto watches clip. Switches back to Scrivener. Writes a piece about Jacob Markstrom. Makes a cup of cappucino. Gets dressed.

CALLER

RISTO

CALLER
Yeah. What’s up? I’m superbusy actually, you know, with the house and everything. And the kids. But hey, I still try to get to the gym, You ever get to the gym? You should, you know, it’s good for you, ha ha ha. You know? Grrrr!! Ha ha ha.

RISTO

CALLER

CALLER
No, the cable guy! Come on, man!

RISTO
But all I see is the Shania Twain impersonation.

CALLER
