Two hearts

He was lying on his side, supporting his head with his hand, stroking Wife’s hair gently. She was lying on her back, reading a magazine.

Viva Las Vegas!

“You know,” he said, “We’ve been together for ten years, and it’s been great, but do you know what I think is the best part?”
“Mm-hmm,” she said.
“The best part is that everything is more fun with you.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“ You know?”
“What?”
“I said that the best part with our ten-year anniversary is that I still think everything’s more fun with you.”
“Really?”
“Really. Like, sure, I like going to a ball game with my friends, but it’d be even more fun with you.”
“OK…”
“Or going to a bar.”
“Come on.”
“I mean it.”
“What about, say, going to the gym? Me or a buddy?”
“You.”
“Going to the movies? Getting wasted? Watching the 1978 Wimbledon final in the middle of the night?”
“You. You. You.”
“Taking a shower?”
“Definitely you.”
“A company conference? A road trip? Helping a friend move? Visiting grandma in the hospital?”
“Oh, you, no doubt.”
She put her magazine down and sat up.
“OK, but those were obvious. I would have been disappointed if you hadn’t said yes, so let’s just say that you passed the test. Now, lets’s see,” she said.
“Hiking in the mountains? Hiking in the mountains with fever? Skating on the canal? Hiding a dead body?”
“Well, provided that the dead body is not you, then, yeah, you, for all four.”
“Jumping a bungee jump…?
“Who does that anymore? But you.”
“Sky diving. Getting arrested. I know, blowing out your knee!”
“You could carry me home. You.”
“But rather me than a buddy, or an orthopedic surgeon?”
“He’d do the surgery right there?
“No, but he’d know what to do.”
“I’d still rather blow my knee out with you.”
“Go shopping for a new mobile phone? New car?”
“You.”
“Wow … That’s scary.”
“A little.”

  1. But what about shopping for a bikini, going to Ikea without a military schedule a Saturday afternoon or stand beside me while I’m haggling for a very cheap thing (in a Swedish shop?) Still wanna come?
    (Love you, too.)

I think you expressed yours beautifully.

How does that make you feel?
