This interesting experiment has been doing the rounds around the world as a quick way to see if you’re “left or right brain,” i.e. which side of the brain is the dominant one.
If the girl in the image (below) moves clockwise, you’re right-brain, if counter-clockwise, you’re left-brain. “Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise.”
I’ve tried this a dozen times, and only once, after about a 15-minute active staring at different parts of the image, did I get the girl to spin counter-clockwise.
That would make me a right-brain person. Right.
The left side of the brain is typically verbal, analytical, literal, linear, mathematical, sequential, concrete, rational, skeptical, closed, and cautious.
The right side of the brain is considered creative, musical, artistic, holistic, nonverbal, metaphoric, playful, emotional, intuitive, spontaneous, symbolic, and enjoys working with people.
So, this writing-non-fiction-silently-and-alone business is obviously not for me. Or, just think what I could do if I had the brain for it?
And one question remains: why is she dancing naked?
I saw her turning clockwise just in the beginning. But suddenly she turned the other way.
And now I can make her dance any way I want to.
I can only see her going clockwise as well… guess I’m a right-brainer, too. Which is no surprise.
In fact, it’s a no-brainer.
