That’s the sound of da police

Drove down to my local sushi bar a couple of blocks away and… well, it was raining and it's closer to 700 meters to the place and… anyway, I drove down, and saw a police car with the sirens on coming towards me. It's not something we see every day around here, so I got kind of curious.

And even more curious when I saw the second police car, and there are no words to describe what I felt when I saw the two police cars blocking the street and the "do not cross" tape that blocked the entrance to the pizza place that has the best kebabs this side of town.

Selfishly, I first checked if the police had blocked the entrance to the sushi bar as well, but they hadn't so I parked my car across the street and decided to … see what was going on, and then get some sushi.

I saw a small moped lying on the grass, and thought it was weird that so many policemen would cover such a minor event.

An older officer was leaning against the building, looking around just a little bit. I pulled the earphones out of my ears and asked him what was going on.

"There was an attempt to rob a money transport down where the banks are," he said.

"Oh dear," I said, the way Swedes always say it, and nodded knowingly.

I looked towards another set of blue lights further down the street. Down where the post office used to be, where the rock club/fancy restaurant now is. There's no bank, I wanted to tell the officer, but instead, turned my iPod on again and listened to the rest of the Love podcast.

Read in the paper now that the robbers had left their getaway moped behind.

I saw it. I blog about it. Are these my 15 minutes?
