The Best of the Decade: The best

For ten days, I’ve been pulling stuff out of the archives, but as is the nature of these lists, I saved the best for last. Ladies and gentlemen, the Best of the Decade. The envelope, please…

Number One.

Fictitious:
The Master of My Domain »
A somewhat autobiographical story of a man going from singularity to duality to plurality. Included is a podcast version, read by the author.

True Stories:
Back in a Bit »
A true story of a man, a woman, two sleeping kids, and a limo full of other family members.

Flashbacks:
How I Kneed Her »
“I’m sitting at the computer smiling”
“You real good at the personal shit, man. REAL good.”
“(G)ives us single folks hope that love is somewhere around the corner.”

Hockey:
Checks And Mates »
When I was ten, my Dad brought home a puck with a short story engraved in it. The hockey story was an allegory for life, and the importance of playing the game right. That stuck with me. This is not as good as that one, but I am only listing the best of my own stuff.

Humor:
Scotch on the rocks »
I just never saw this coming.
