We do define ourselves through our work, don’t we? I’ve been thinking about this quite a bit in the last weeks as I’ve encountered the phrase, “it’s my job” in movies and in real life.

The golden era of the silver screen
My wife asked me the other day, “Are all your sentences going to start with ‘I heard a great podcast today’?” The way things are going, yes, that’s about right.
I know it sounds a little fishy. In fact, somebody said that to me a few months ago. He said, “I’ve never heard anyone use a podcast as a reference before.”
Spring is in the air
Stockholm is a beautiful city. I just walked through Kungsträdgården in downtown Stockholm. Kids were skating around, screaming and having fun – with helmets on, naturally – in the sun, and it just made me want to jump in, and maybe do a lutz or an axel.

Like this guy. And yes, he is skating in Kungsträdgården in Stockholm.
It was much colder this time last year.
Wanted: idol
First off, if you happened to get here via Google, I’m sorry, this entry is not about a talent search slash reality tv-show nor about a TV personality building a media empire around his name. (And if I named the show and the host, then, well, Google would be all over this entry. Just kidding.)
I was thinking about my idols today. I watched The Life and Death of Peter Sellers and didn’t know what to think.
Good job
“Hey there, what’s up? How’re ya doing?”
“Good, good, keepin’ busy, keepin’ busy.”
“Really? Where do you work now?”
“Amazon UK.”
James Brown
When I was about four years old, I would pull down my pants, wiggle my butt and say that I was James Brown. The Godfather of Soul, The Hardest-Working Man in Showbusiness: Thank you:
It’s mine
I just want to claim this word, or the copyright to this word that I coined.
Engineerd.
Maybe it sounds better in Finnish: insinöördi (instead of insinööri).
You can use it, but remember where you heard it first. Right here.
Wake me up before you go-go
It’s official: the best music ever was written between 1982 and 1987. (The exception to the rule being an obscure British band called the Beatles that recorded a few catchy tunes in the Sixties).
Letters to the editor
Dear blogger,
You seem to have answers to everything. Can it be true?
Best,

Customer service
It’s been 11 minutes and 20 seconds now. That’s how long I’ve been holding to get the customer service of “3“, the Swedish 3G mobile operator. I’ve heard all about their campaigns, how to create a photo album on their site, how to change the ring tones, and tones for outgoing calls.
